PCGs Human Services Practice Area works with states and providers to design, develop, refine, evaluate, and manage programs that support older adults and people with disabilities, children and youth, and other vulnerable populations. Our mission is to help our clients improve the lives of the people they serve. Our team is seeking to add an experienced, team-oriented communications consulting leader who will help us fulfill this mission.
The Senior Director of Communications will lead a skilled team of communicators to successfully implement stakeholder outreach, communications, and marketing activities for small to large-scale client projects in the government Human Services sector. Our team provides strategic communications, digital marketing, and creative consulting and delivery services to help our clients successfully implement initiatives and improve their audience engagement. The ideal candidate will be a communication thought leader who can bring creative strategies to our clients and support our communications team in implementing those strategies. The Senior Director of Communications will also be a relationship builder, fostering meaningful relationships with PCGs clients and with PCGs other consulting teams to help grow PCGs work in the market. Leadership experience with government agencies and/or health and human services organizations, or in a consulting environment, is strongly preferred
Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee all client communications engagements in the Human Services Practice Area, including building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with clients.
Collaborate with PCG project leadership to identify communications needs and oversee the development and implementation of strategies for a wide variety of state government agency audiences, including service providers, provider associations, local governments, and people receiving services and their families.
Lead a team of communications consulting staff that supports all aspects of communications client work, including strategy, writing, design, delivery, and ongoing improvement.
Present to client staff, including state government agency leadership, on PCGs communications work.
Serve as a communication thought leader, proposing and delivering new ideas, technologies, and tools to better serve our clients.
Work with PCG leadership to generate new revenue by expanding PCGs strategic communications work in the government human services space.
Develop and maintain procedures and practices for the communications team to ensure consistent delivery of quality communications products for our clients and their audiences.
Serve as the final reviewer for high-impact communications to our clients audiences.
Develop, maintain, and track communications work plans and budgets for client projects.
Write, review, and edit client-related deliverables such as reports, status updates, etc.
Qualifications

Desire and ability to continuously evaluate and improve upon current processes.
Maintain a growth mindset, including identifying opportunities to better serve current clients and to engage with prospective clients.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Ability to work both in a team situation and autonomously.
Ability to work with colleagues and clients in virtual videoconferencing settings, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
Ability to travel to attend PCG events and meet clients on-site approximately 25% of the time.
Education
Bachelors Degree
Experience
At least 12 years of relevant experience, including five years in a communications leadership or consulting leadership role (may include roles in communications, marketing, government relations, government affairs, or press relations)
Knowledge of or experience with health and human services organizations and/or government agencies (strongly preferred)
Applicants from across the US will be considered. Regular work duties are completed virtually/remotely but will require some periodic travel to PCG and client sites.
Supervisory Responsibility
This is a people management job with direct reports. All PCG people managers are expected to:

Compensation
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $120,000 - 150,000 and a potential discretionary bonus of up to 15 %. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
