Location:This is a hybrid position and only candidates in the Bay Area, California, will be considered.
The Role:
The Senior Structural Packaging Designer is a high-profile role covering both current and future packaging design. This includes the form, materials, design for retail, and continuing into the execution phase of design intent. The role works closely with global packaging engineering locations, suppliers, proto shops/labs along with business groups and contacts within the company. The candidate should have a compelling and diverse portfolio of past packaging project work.

In this role, you will:Craft the future packaging for LogitechUnderstand and contribute to all phases of the design thinking process from conceptual to strategic, and tactical to implementationCraft beautiful details, while keeping the bigger picture in mind, and vice versaProvide team leadership with the ability to run projects with little supportDevelop packaging dielines, molded pulp, and other molded material packaging for complex surfaced productsCreate compelling presentations throughout development to cross-functional teamsCollaborate with and inspire Business and Product Leads - but also work with and push the limits of suppliers for new capabilities and so on for the best solutionsWork in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while working closely with the rest of the packaging team (engineering, graphics, etc.) and the design department (project management, CMF, ID, etc.) both locally and internationallyOccasionally travel overnight nationally and internationallyWork towards our internal sustainability goals
Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:5-7+ years of relevant experience in structural packaging designWell-versed in consumer-centered design methods and techniquesStrong portfolio of cutting edge retail packaging design that proves not only solid design skills but forward-thinking in consumer electronics or related industryExperience defining Packaging Materials (paper, plastics, foam, etc.), manufacturing processes of them, properties, and relative cost basis - along with coatings and printing finishesExcellent skills in ideation, concept visualization, form development, CAD, model making and rapid prototyping and building this into strategy level conceptsExcellent 2D and 3D skills: fluent in the Adobe Creative Suite, Solidworks, Artios CAD, and TOPSHighly driven and proactive self-starter - taking on a task without much context and driving it throughBelieves in collaboration in a multi-disciplinary design environment - not a waterfallExcellent communication and storytelling skills sharing your design thinking, presenting to all levels of co-workers and management throughout all stages of designAdvanced knowledge of ISTA and related shipping tests/freight environmentsIn-depth knowledge of sustainable packaging trends and practicesExperience with packaging suppliers and understanding how they work to design solutionsPast experience with consumer electronics, B2B, multiple SKUs, etcWillingness to take direction and learn from others as well a collaborate with other designersOptimistic outlook - we are creating the future after all
In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:SE Asia and Chinese vendor experienceExperience in all parts of sustainable packaging from materials to guidelines, and using LCA softwareCurrently hybrid work, and preference for candidates located in the Bay Area, as this position will require prototyping in our packaging lab as needed.
Education:BS in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent packaging design experience

This position offers an annual base salary typically between $ 78,000 and $ 178,200, dependent on location and experience.
In certain circumstances, higher compensation will be considered based on the business need, candidate experience, and skills.
