Graphic Designer – NASA Goddard Earth Sciences
ADNET is seeking a Senior Multimedia Specialist to serve as a full-time Graphic Designer within the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Earth Sciences Division (ESD) U.S. Greenhouse Gas Center (GHGC).
The Graphic Designer will support GSFC Earth Sciences’ design and production needs, creating engaging and educational visual content to communicate complex scientific information to stakeholders and the public.
Responsibilities:
Produce graphics and communication materials such as flyers, posters, infographics, and brochures.
Develop creative visuals that represent complex data in an engaging manner.
Provide graphic content for web platforms, including carousels, cards, and story graphics.
Ensure a consistent look and feel across all communications, adhering to NASA graphics standards and style guides.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience or Associate degree with 3-5+ years of experience in visual/graphic design, journalism, science communication, or related fields.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Strong understanding of design principles such as layout, typography, and color theory.
Experience in static and interactive asset creation.
Background in communicating science to the public.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and Box.
Experience producing accessible PDFs compliant with Section 508.
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency with residency in the US for the past 3 years.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation clearance through NASA.
Desired Qualifications:
Background in Earth or physical sciences.
Experience in video design, production, and editing.
Familiarity with Drupal and InDesign.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Self-motivated with enthusiasm for dynamic work environments.
