Schedule: Mandatory in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays Work from Home - Mondays and Fridays Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Department: CX Product Team - 934 Primary Purpose: Responsible for shaping the overall user experience for strategic products at ARUP. Transform complex and cumbersome processes into intuitive, satisfying, and empowering experiences for customers. Design and validate new experiences through customer research, usability testing, mockups, wireframes, and other UX artifacts. Tackle large scope projects, contribute to enterprise initiatives with minimal supervision, mentor junior designers, and help define the digital design framework for the organization. Essential Functions: Identify user requirements and incorporate feedback into design solutions. Conduct user research such as usability testing, inquiries, and surveys. Design experience maps and navigation for assigned products. Analyze customer behavior post-launch and incorporate findings into iterations. Create UX artifacts: mockups, wireframes, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, personas, etc. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build user empathy and incorporate feedback. Mentor junior designers on UX methodologies and best practices. Support and drive design standards and contribute to evolving design systems. Other duties as assigned. Physical and Other Requirements: Stooping, reaching, mobility, and effective communication. Work in a biohazard environment with PPE as per CDC/OSHA regulations. Compliance with ARUP policies and procedures. Sedentary work involving lifting up to 10 pounds, fine motor control, visual acuity, and color perception. Qualifications: Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in design, psychology, human-computer interface with 4 years’ experience or High School diploma with 5 years’ experience in related fields. Intermediate skills with design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.). Portfolio demonstrating relevant digital experience. Understanding of UI design principles, usability, and UX process. Preferred: Knowledge of web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript). Experience with style guides or design systems. Experience with user research and data collection. Ability to communicate design decisions clearly.
