The Amazon Prime UX Research team is the knowledge hub of all things Amazon Prime. Our team runs worldwide research work streams aimed at understanding Prime and its customers, as well as conducting forward-looking research to inform Prime's future plans, and to make sure we're always positioned to exceed customer expectations. One of the most exciting parts of working on the Prime UX team is in a unique position to examine the entire user journey, across all Amazon products and services.
We are seeking an experienced mixed methods UX Researcher with a strong quantitative focus to drive insights for the Prime membership experience globally. This role will influence Amazon-wide strategy through rigorous quantitative studies complemented by qualitative insights. The ideal candidate excels in synthesizing diverse data sources across international markets to drive impactful decisions. This position requires exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment. Beyond strong mixed methods expertise with advanced quantitative capabilities, the ideal candidate possesses robust program management skills and thrives in complex, multi-org technical environments. Success in this role requires coordinating international research initiatives while consistently advocating for customers across diverse global markets.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and execute end-to-end mixed methods research studies, balancing quantitative rigor (e.g., surveys, statistical analysis) with qualitative depth (e.g., interviews, focus groups) to address key business questions.
- Manage all stages of the research lifecycle, from creating proposals and designing methodologies to recruiting participants, moderating sessions, conducting analysis, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Define and implement appropriate research methodologies for deep-dive studies based on business objectives, timelines, and available resources.
- Support the end-to-end execution of large-scale CX tracker surveys, including design, analysis, and ongoing optimization.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders — senior leadership, engineers, product managers, marketers, UX designers and researchers — to drive customer-centric decisions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline research processes and increase operational efficiency while maintaining research quality.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Business, Research, Statistics, Behavioral Economics, or a related field of study required
- 3+ years of quantitative and qualitative research experience, including survey design and execution
- 3+ years of exp. utilizing data and analytics to formulate program objectives, solve business problems, and drive process improvements
- Experience with survey programming and administration tools (e.g., Qualtrics)
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, Matlab, Excel with advanced functions)
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Experimental/Cognitive/Social Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Business, Behavioral Economics, or related field
- Expertise in advanced statistical techniques (e.g., statistical significance, regression, factor analysis, Conjoint, MaxDiff) for survey design and analysis
- Experience leading large-scale research programs and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
