Position Summary
The Portland State University Library seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative Assistant Manager of Access Services and Library Technology to join the dynamic campus community of Oregon’s most affordable and diverse public research university. The Assistant Manager leads the Library Technology Support Team, overseeing technology purchasing, documentation, lab and study room management, and providing hardware/software support to library patrons and staff. They coordinate responses to technical requests, lead technology projects, and assist at the Circulation Desk, ensuring excellent customer service and support for various library technologies. This unclassified, unranked position supervises staff and student employees and reports to the Access Services Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus three years of recent experience in a library or education environment
- Recent experience in computer science, information systems, educational technology, or related fields
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience
- Experience in an academic library
- Proficiency in library-specific applications and content management systems
- Customer service experience in library/technology support
- Advanced desktop support skills for MacOS and Windows
- Leadership in technology implementations

Work Schedule

Compensation & Benefits
The starting annual salary is $67,000, negotiable based on experience and other factors. Benefits include 95% premium paid healthcare, retirement, vacation, and reduced tuition rates for employees and dependents. Visit our benefits calculator for full details.
