Company Description

Duke Studios Detroit is a fine arts instruction and production workspace located in the Martin Park District of Detroit. The studio includes a private learning, teaching, and production area that provides fine arts classes to students aspiring to become proficient in the arts. Our outreach model features a six- to eight-week curriculum focusing on visual arts classes for K-8 students and a portfolio development course for grades 9-12.

Role Description

This is a part-time on/off-site role for a Visual Arts Educator located in Detroit, MI. The Visual Arts Educator will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans, developing curriculum, teaching various art techniques, and fostering an environment conducive to learning and creativity. Daily tasks include preparing classroom materials, conducting art classes, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with other educators to enhance the overall art education program.

Qualifications

• Skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development
• Teaching and Art Education experience
• Proficiency in Painting techniques and methodologies
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate students
• Certification in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
• Previous experience in a teaching role is preferred
