What this role is all about :

Beem Credit Union is seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to join our Innovation team. Reporting to the VP of Innovation, the UX Designer will develop exceptional user experiences and interactions to transform our organization and advance our industry. You will lead the design of omnichannel experiences, products, and services, producing deliverables that clarify how we engage with members now and in the future. The role emphasizes creating meaningful customer experiences, combining deep UX, design, and brand expertise while considering business impacts.

What you’ll do :

1. Leverage research methodologies (user testing, interviews, focus groups, secondary review) to inform designs.
2. Create visual designs to illustrate concepts and provide specifications for UI and front-end developers.
3. Maintain and evolve a Design system, articulating its contribution to business growth.
4. Develop usability strategies to enhance user experience across digital platforms.
5. Design systems considering various customer segments and personas.
6. Facilitate workshops and sprints to iterate on design concepts.
7. Collaborate with strategy, product, technical teams, and stakeholders to prioritize tasks.
8. Synthesize research outcomes into viable product experiences.

Technical Subject Matter Expert :

1. Act as an SME for emerging technology and best practices in user journey mapping.
2. Develop engagement within the team as a trusted advisor.
3. Translate insights into ideas to improve Beem’s products and features.
4. Leverage research and usability principles to understand members’ needs.
5. Influence the aesthetic of experiences impacting thousands of users daily.
6. Utilize technical knowledge of front-end technologies and constraints.
7. Support product development efficiently and within budget.
8. Hold a post-secondary degree in design, business, innovation, technology, or related field.
9. Have demonstrated experience in UX design, preferably in FinTech or financial services.
10. Proficient with design tools like Figma.
11. Knowledge of design thinking and agile methodologies.
12. Maintain a portfolio showcasing your work, from sketches to detailed designs.
13. Experience in creating storyboards and user personas.
14. Proven collaboration skills across business functions.
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Leadership qualities and self-motivation.
17. Strong problem-solving skills.
