Base pay range $3,500.00/yr - $5,500.00/yr Business Owner & Motion Picture Writer/Producer About Garaj Pictures: Garaj Pictures is a Los Angeles-based independent film production company dedicated to crafting bold and innovative storytelling across genres. Founded by Raj Jawa, a second-generation Angeleno with deep roots in the city's creative and entrepreneurial spirit, the company specializes in independent feature films, championing unique voices and unconventional narratives. With a focus on both producing and distributing compelling content, Garaj Pictures collaborates with ambitious filmmakers and industry professionals to bring distinct visions to the screen. Role & Responsibilities: 6-8 weeks of contract work, will receive feature credit title on distributed motion picture with named actors. Develop and execute animation sequences based on the provided reference and creative direction. Collaborate with the director and post-production team to integrate animations seamlessly into the film. Work within a modest budget while maintaining high-quality results. Deliver assets in a timely manner, adhering to project deadlines. Qualifications: Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in horror or stylized animation. Ability to work independently while taking creative feedback. Prior experience in film animation is a plus but not required. Communication and collaboration skills. Motion capture and animation expertise. Storyboarding and motion graphics proficiency. Strong attention to detail and creativity. Experience in the film or animation industry. Bachelor's degree in Animation, Film, or related field. Ideal Skills: Frame-by-frame (hand-drawn) animation experience. Strong understanding of timing and movement for fluid, atmospheric animation. Proficiency in one or more of: Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, TVPaint, Blender (Grease Pencil), or similar 2D animation software. Ability to work with cool, desaturated color schemes and soft lighting. Experience integrating animation into live-action footage.
