YOUR ROLE
As an Experience Design Researcher, you will be part of Genworth’s Experience Design Team within the Customer Experience Solution Delivery organization. You will play a critical role in mapping customer sub-journeys, validating hypotheses, and informing the business of customer needs. Your role involves acting as a customer advocate and thought leader in human-centered design research, fostering a customer-centric mentality across the enterprise.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Conduct product and market research using methods such as surveys, focus groups, IDIs, usability testing, concept testing, and other user research methodologies to gather customer insights (persona development, concept testing, preference testing, price sensitivity testing, etc.).
- Analyze research data, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights to inform design decisions.
- Communicate research findings clearly and compellingly through reports, presentations, and workshops.
- Participate in cross-functional product teams to formulate hypotheses and identify knowledge gaps. Create research strategies to support the development of products, services, journeys, and experiences.
- Ideate with design teams to deliver effective solutions across the USLI customer lifecycle.
- Apply statistical analysis skills (descriptive statistics, regression testing, conjoint analysis, etc.) to survey data.
- Partner with the VOC Data and Analytics Team to identify trends and generate insights for strategic decisions.
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative research skills
- Effectively communicate and present information both verbally and visually.
- Create and execute research plans following established processes.
- Regularly synthesize multiple data sources to generate actionable insights.
- Seek continuous improvement in individual and team performance.
- Work flexibly within Genworth’s core hours of 8-6pm EST.
MUST HAVE / WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Industrial Design, or related field.
- Graduate degree(s) in Human Factors, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a UX or human-centered design researcher.
- Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and processes.
- Collaborative and curious mindset with a passion for discovering customer needs and solving problems.
NICE TO HAVE
- Knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle.
- Experience working in a shared-service team within an enterprise setting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Experience in the financial, healthcare, or insurance industries.
- Experience conducting Customer Experience (CX) research.

The salary range for this role starts at $80,200 up to $158,400. In addition, there is an incentive plan based on performance, with a target earning opportunity of 10% of base pay. Final pay will be determined based on location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity.
