This hybrid position will be mostly remote but will require in-person presence 1 to 2 days a week, as well as for special events, scheduled meetings, or as needed.
Responsibilities:
Provide Project Management Support to the Chief of Staff, including media support and web design and development.
Assist the National Weather Service (NWS) Chief of Staff, Communications Division, with programmatic activities such as developing and executing strategic communication plans for national safety campaigns.
Coordinate internal communication efforts to provide resources and information to NWS staff, programs, and field offices, and manage external activities with partners and the public.
Create and edit content for websites, social media, graphics, videos, news articles, op-eds, speeches, and briefing papers for special projects.
Serve as a content manager for NWS websites.
Assist the Chief of Staff with media support activities, including developing presentation materials such as publications, brochures, fact sheets, posters, flyers, signs, logos, certificates, and meeting materials.
Provide graphic design services for the NWS Director and other offices, including multimedia design for print, web, and video.
Develop web content, including podcasts and video clips with 508 compliance for captioning.
Produce broadcast videos and photography for websites and media release.
