Metalphoto of Cincinnati (MPC), a division of Horizons Incorporated, is a dynamic and growing manufacturer of custom durable metal and plastic branding, product identification, functional components, and signage products. MPC has been delivering high-quality and cost-effective products to our hundreds of customers nationwide for over 60 years. Our customers span a broad range of industries and include notable names such as Amazon, Federal Express, Caterpillar, Lockheed Martin, Care Fusion, and many others. MPC employs various processes in the production of our products, including photographic imaging, digital printing, screen printing, thermal transfer printing, and other finishing and fabricating methods.
To support our continuing growth, MPC is seeking a full-time Graphics Engineer to join our team.
Role Responsibilities
- Review customer-supplied designs and layouts, and suggest improvements when necessary.
- Design and prepare art and copy layouts using graphics software for materials to be screen printed, digitally printed, or photographically imaged based on job requirements, customer specifications, and other related information.
- Perform technical duties including scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning, and pre-flighting.
- Accurately assemble and/or create all design elements required for production, including dimensional or illustrative drawings, proofs, print routings, etc.
- Archive and update graphic files as needed.
- Output film positives/negatives for production using a dry film image setter, and handle film assembly, inspection, retouching, and mounting as required.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or 2-D CAD drawing.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and understand mechanical/technical drawings.
- A working knowledge of photographic imaging, screen printing, or digital printing is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including prioritizing and coordinating multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interface professionally with customers when required.
