Graphics Rendering and Compositing Engineer
Apple's Compositing, Color, and Display Software organization provides the graphics software foundation for all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Apple Watch, and CarPlay. As part of our UI compositing team, you will contribute to the core graphics compositing engine behind every Apple device that renders to a display. Your contributions will also extend to developing rendering implementations for CarPlay Ultra, Apple's next-generation in-vehicle experience. We are seeking an exceptional software engineer to work on key graphics technologies across Apple’s ecosystem, with the opportunity to significantly impact the end-user experience for all Apple customers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with GPU, Media, UI, Car Experience, and System Experience teams to implement features and debug issues across Apple's software ecosystem.
- Develop APIs, frameworks, and system software, including Core Animation Framework, for rendering, compositing, and animating visual elements.
- Participate in new hardware bring-up and productization across multiple projects.
- Perform in-depth performance analysis and optimization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of software development experience
- BS or MS Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent C/C++ coding skills
- Passion for 2D and 3D graphics
- Experience with OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, or other GPU APIs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong software design, problem solving, and debugging skills
- Experience with performance analysis, optimization, and low-level systems programming
- Good judgment, integrity, and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle complexity and deliver high-quality results
- Positive, adaptable, and results-oriented attitude
- Experience with cross-platform and embedded software development
Pay & Benefits:
Base pay ranges from $143,100 to $264,200, depending on skills, experience, and location. Employees can participate in stock programs, receive comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounts, educational reimbursements, and may be eligible for bonuses or relocation assistance.
