Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs), with duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. Our stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
TECHNICIAN - STUDIO/CONTROL ROOM - Per Diem Position
The candidate will fill various production roles, including technical director/automation, audio operator/mixing, robotics/camera, chyron/graphics, and floor director. They must have a solid understanding of live production, particularly news production, and be able to operate live broadcast equipment. The role involves working in a control room environment, thinking critically under pressure within strict time constraints, and working as part of a team. Professional and respectful interaction with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management is essential.
The candidate must have at least 3 years of recent experience in broadcast technician, control room/master control, and news environments in a medium to major market. Excellent communication and strong technical skills (systems, equipment, software) are required, along with a friendly, collaborative spirit, positive attitude, and good judgment. Physical requirements include sitting and standing for extended periods, reaching overhead, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Since WNYW/WWOR operates 24/7, flexibility in scheduling evenings, early mornings, weekends, and all shifts is necessary, along with the ability to work overtime, holidays, and varied hours. Other duties as assigned. The candidate must also join the I.A.T.S.E Local 794 union.

Pursuant to pay disclosure laws, the pay rate for this role ranges from $43.40 to $48.76 per hour, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) after meeting eligibility, and state-mandated time-off, in accordance with plan documents. Union employees' benefits are governed by the collective bargaining agreement.
