Union Board is the governing body of the Indiana Memorial Union and the largest student programming organization on campus. Driven by students, Union Board plans a range of fun, entertaining, and educational events for students to come together, explore multiple world views, discuss current events, and learn from one another.
Union Board Marketing provides students the opportunity to work in a fun and collaborative atmosphere where creative problem-solving leads to the development of effective strategies to build awareness, engagement, and action from Indiana University (IU) students and more. All Union Board Marketing staff will contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of various marketing and communications initiatives.
Job Summary
The Multimedia Photographer/Videographer is someone with a creative eye and a flexible schedule, willing to work some evenings and weekends. They will cover everything from major university events, concerts and lectures, marketing campaign shoots, and many other Union Board programs. After capturing Union Board events, the Multimedia Photographer/Videographer will be the ones to edit pictures, videos, and short form content (ex. TikToks, Instagram Reels etc.), finalizing them to the highest standards.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Storyboards, edits, and enhances videos into professional formats in collaboration with the Union Board Marketing team.
- Creates short-form content (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels) using CapCut, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Edits video footage using Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Collaborates with Marketing Leads and Directors to brainstorm creative solutions and develop engaging content.
- Captures photos and video at events and programs for immediate social media use and archival purposes.
- Photographs people, places, and scenes to build a versatile media library for future marketing campaigns.
- Edits and shares photo collections with Directors and team members in a timely manner, including same-day edits for social media posting when needed.
- Maintains organized photo libraries to ensure efficient search and retrieval of visual assets.
- Participates in meetings, critiques, and brainstorming sessions to support project planning and team collaboration.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
Required
- A solid understanding of DSLR cameras, lighting, and gathering audio
- Experience editing videos with Adobe Premiere
- Experience creating interactive graphics with Adobe After Effects
- Experience editing photos with Adobe Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Photo Mechanic
- Experience creating and editing short form content such as TikToks and Instagram Reels
- Fine attention to detail

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Some evening and weekend events attendance is required.
Additional Information
The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025.
Must be able to attend required training sessions for position.
