Contract Position: 8 months with potential for extension
Pay: Up to $50 an hour, W2
Assignment Description:
The Environmental Graphic Designer will support the creation and development of physical environmental graphics and dimensional signage. This includes technical illustrations, 3D modeling, and contract documentation for fabrication and installation. The designer will collaborate with internal partners across disciplines (Creative, Show/Ride, Ops, etc.) and support the implementation of complex design strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design environmental graphics and signage from concept through technical execution.
- Produce technical illustrations, 3D modeling, and production art for fabrication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support signage, wayfinding, and physical branding design.
- Resolve design-related questions during construction and respond to field issues.
- Monitor project schedule, budget, and progress (earned value).
- Coordinate design issues with the Lead Designer and Project Manager.
- Ensure deliverables meet project objectives and design integrity.
- Lead or represent the discipline in team meetings and communications.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Environmental Graphic Design.
- Experience with the construction phase: shop drawings, submittals, and field inspections.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CADtools plug-in, and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of BIM standards and signage programming.
- Familiar with wayfinding systems and signage code requirements (Fire, Safety, ADA).
- Ability to generate reliable fabrication/installation cost estimates at schematic level.
- Understanding of contract processes and project life cycle phases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with code compliance for signage (Fire, Safety, Health, ADA).
- Experience estimating signage costs and timelines.
- Proficiency in SketchUp is a plus.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) in Design or related field
- Preferred: Advanced education or certifications in Environmental Design or Graphic Design
