Summary of Position
The Localization Copy Editor is responsible for writing and editing in-game text and voiceover scripts across all Nexon games. They assist in establishing style rules, update localization process documents, and monitor the progress of copy editing tasks, communicating with the project manager as needed. This role involves working in a hybrid model, with in-office presence 2-3 days a week.
Job Responsibilities
- Write and edit in-game text and voiceover scripts; assist in defining style rules.
- Create and update localization documents such as style guides, NPC documents, story bibles, process guides, proper noun pages, Qu2019s docs, QA notes, etc.
- Guide style direction by initiating discussions with the project manager and copy editing lead.
- Manage copy editing tasks for assigned games, monitor progress, allocate work, and communicate issues to the project manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of game-related work experience.
- At least 3 years of professional writing experience.
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in English preferred.
- Creative writing background preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent grammar and copy-editing skills.
- Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style (CMoS).
- Ability to adapt to specific voices and styles while faithfully conveying source material.
- Interest in anime-style character-collecting mobile games.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with stakeholders with varying priorities.
- Constructive feedback skills.
- Previous game localization experience and familiarity with editing game strings, QA testing, and text tools are pluses.
- Experience editing voiceover scripts and attending voiceover sessions is a plus.

Compensation
The hourly salary range in El Segundo, CA is $27.00 - $31.00. Compensation is determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, education, and location. This range reflects base pay; additional bonuses or incentives may apply.
