The Consulate General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest is looking to hire a Director of Media Relations for their growing Los Angeles team.
The Consulate General of Israel to the Pacific Southwest is the official representative of the State of Israel with jurisdiction over: Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
The mission of the L.A-based Consulate is to enhance the ties between the United States and Israel through partnerships and mutual understanding.
This position involves extensive responsibilities across numerous media outlets and establishments in the Pacific Southwest.
The Media Affairs Director plays a key role in the consulate's Public Diplomacy team, acting as a link between the consulate and the media, and creating messaging for diplomatic outreach. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain high-level international experience.
The individual will manage communication with media, provide public statements, and ensure consistent messaging through official channels.
The Role includes:
- Creating and executing media engagement strategies, including press releases, media pitching, and securing interviews.
- Building and maintaining relationships with media outlets.
- Monitoring media coverage across various platforms.
- Analyzing media trends and conducting research.
- Assisting in writing and editing articles, speeches, and press releases.
- Organizing related events and seeking cooperation opportunities.
- Managing inquiries from the public and media.
- Developing communication strategies during crises.
Skills required:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to network effectively with media outlets.
- Understanding of current political and media landscapes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or related fields.
- Experience in journalism, media production, or digital content creation is advantageous.
- Spanish language skills and newsroom experience are preferred.
