Overview
The Jr. Creative Designer will be a member of our (DIY) WallPops & Roomates brands design team, creating DIY décor products. This role is responsible for developing original designs and execute artwork for production, as well as using art and imagery from other sources (licensing opportunities). You will work collaboratively with the design and product teams to then bring our product to market.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to create new DIY product
- Manipulates purchased artwork to develop DIY product, including but not limited to, peel and stick wallpaper, decals, floor tile and backsplash tiles, licensed and non-licensed.
- Work directly with external teams to collaborate on exclusive product lines that reflect all brands involved
- Send licensed decals through the entire licensing process from start to print
- Aid in trend research and contribute to trend forecasting across categories
- Modify final projects to be compatible with the printing companies
- Work closely with manufacturers to ensure product matches and quality
- Assist with any product designs or programs moving through the studio
- Support and assist the team in the creation of samples and mock-ups
- Continually facilitate the design team in updating and creating storyboards
- Assist in the update of room set images for upcoming product launches
- Work closely with internal Product Info and Graphic Design teams to set up / update SKUs, room sets and packaging.
- Work with Sales Team to develop products for national accounts.
SKILLSET/COMPENTENCIES REQUIREMENTS
- Mastery of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are required.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
- Experience in the home décor industry or just a passion for all things "home".
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of printing techniques and protocols are a plus.
- 3-4 years' experience in either graphics and/or surface design, ideally with a combination of both.
- BA in Graphics or surface design.
