Consultant - Data Visualization and User Experience

This position is for a Consultant with expertise in data visualization, user interface/experience, and data storytelling for business and IT organizations. The Consultant will work with diverse clients, from small and medium enterprises to Fortune 100 firms. In a team environment with internal and client stakeholders, the consultant will develop, analyze, and optimize data visualizations and user interfaces, coordinating data analytics, storytelling, and UI development within client organizations.
Engagements are typically longer, allowing the consultant to oversee the implementation of process improvement recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and implement data visualization, UI/UX, and data storytelling projects.
- Serve as the primary resource for data visualization, UI/UX, and storytelling initiatives, collaborating with project teams and clients on UML modeling, data flow design, and analytics requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of recommendations, including data source evaluation, modeling, storytelling, and UI design, coordinating with other consultants.
- Mentor and coach team members on data visualization, UI/UX, and storytelling fundamentals.
- Develop KPIs and track metrics during and after project implementation.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field with two years of professional experience, or a graduate degree/equivalent experience.
- Strong skills in presentation, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Success in analysis-driven problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in time-sensitive environments.
- Collaborative skills and influence without authority.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Client relationship skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Power BI; experience with Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.
- Experience in data analytics, KPI/dashboard development, and data presentation.
- Knowledge of UI/UX evaluation, design, and development.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 75% travel to clients and in-office.
