Senior Autodesk Civil 3D CAD Technician/Designer
with a minimum of 10 years of experience to be part of our team. In this position, you will perform advanced design and drafting assignments with minimal supervision, working with a team of engineers and technicians on water, wastewater, transportation, and drainage projects for public sector clients. This position can be based in our Austin, Houston, or San Antonio office. The primary responsibilities of the Autodesk Civil 3D CAD Technician/Designer include: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide drafting and design support during planning, design, and construction phases for water, wastewater, roadway, and drainage projects. Produce plans from survey to final design, including creating alignments, surfaces, contours, plan and profile sheets, roadway corridors, and using Civil 3D styles for labeling, adhering to multiple client standards. Interpret plans and data from other engineering disciplines (survey, utility, etc.) under senior staff supervision. Modify CAD drawings based on plan markups, sketches, and verbal instructions. Prepare presentation materials and graphics for project development, meetings, and reports. Train junior staff on Autodesk Civil 3D through one-on-one and informal group sessions. Requirements: Technical degree/diploma/certificate in CAD, Engineering Design, or a related field. At least ten years of experience in civil drafting and plan production, including grading and pipe profiles. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D. Working knowledge of CAD standards, Civil 3D objects and label styles, linetypes, sheet set manager, and drawing setup. Understanding of geospatial coordinate systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build relationships with team members. Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and MicroStation is a plus. In addition, the successful candidate will be highly motivated, take initiative, demonstrate attention to detail, work well with engineers and technicians, and be willing to learn and expand capabilities.
