Intercity Transit is recruiting for a Senior Web Developer to serve as a subject matter expert in web development and data integration. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining websites that inform and engage both external customers and internal staff, replacing legacy software, and improving business processes. This includes managing multiple Drupal websites, a SharePoint 365 environment, and other internally developed sites. The developer will work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and use expert knowledge to build both front-end and back-end website applications. Its an exciting time to join IT! Serve as the agencys Drupal CMS expert, maintaining multiple Drupal websites using Composer, version control, and DevOps best practices. Improve functionality by installing and configuring Drupal modules, creating content types, taxonomy, views, and other components. Develop custom Drupal modules using PHP and front-end languages. Build custom websites using languages such as PHP, Python, or Node. Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data through databases, APIs, and other storage mechanisms. Use third-party APIs for system integration, including transit-specific datasets like GTFS feeds. Lead the development and support of custom Drupal themes with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, YAML, and Twig. Create responsive, mobile-first websites by gathering business requirements, creating wireframes, and collaborating with stakeholders. Design, test, and implement database objects such as tables, views, SQL scripts, stored procedures, and documentation. Build positive relationships with key partners, understanding their strategies and operational goals. Meet with stakeholders to gather requirements and collaborate with third-party vendors for website development and maintenance. Perform other related duties as assigned and meet attendance standards. Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field. At least four years of experience in website administration, software development, and databases, or equivalent education and experience. Experience with Drupal CMS development and administration. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Valid Washington Driver's License or ability to respond promptly to issues across the service area on a 24/7 basis. Knowledge of programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, Python), cloud platforms (Azure, Pantheon, Acquia), UX/UI best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2), and Microsoft Office applications.
