The Video Engineering organization is at the center of the Camera stack here at Apple. We develop image/video core technologies used in almost all of Apple products and services. From hardware design of our Image Signal Processor, to optimized execution of Machine Learning models on Apple Neural Engine, our efforts are at the forefront of providing the highest quality platforms that are used by billions! Our team is responsible for prototyping and incubating solutions for streaming, recording, playback, and visualization of video and other sensor data. From writing high-quality apps and highly-reusable frameworks to architecting software systems for custom hardware, you will contribute to a broad range of tooling required to turn an experiment into a product.
Description
You will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams and will be responsible for improving and maintaining key parts of our internal software solutions. This involves integrating new technologies and features, as well as writing sustainable and modular frameworks for use across Apple. The role requires a quick learner capable of taking a project from broad concept to execution. You will address dynamic challenges, from gaining agreement on software solutions to resolving technical blockers.
While delivering regular software updates, you will also help improve testing infrastructure and the reliability of our deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience
- 3 years of experience programming in Swift/Objective-C for iOS or macOS applications, with knowledge of digital video fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience with C/C++
- Proficiency in software debugging, unit testing, and optimization
- Experience with Apple’s video frameworks (AVFoundation, CoreMedia)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Metal is highly desirable
- Experience building SwiftUI applications
- Knowledge of Swift Concurrency
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package, determined within a range based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The range for this role is $143,100 to $264,200. Employees can participate in stock programs, purchase stock at a discount, and receive benefits like medical coverage, retirement plans, discounts, educational reimbursements, and potential bonuses or relocation support.
