The Opportunity
The College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) at the University of Florida seeks to hire an Assistant-In/Associate-In faculty position within the Innovation News Center (INC) (12-month, non-tenure track) to begin in Summer 2025 or Fall 2025. We are particularly interested in candidates who understand audio journalism and have experience with Spanish language news across audio, video, and digital platforms. We invite applicants with prior teaching experience (preferred), as well as those who have the potential to assist with scholastic journalism opportunities.
Candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in journalism, media, communication, or a related field. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, with a preference for candidates capable of teaching multiple courses and developing new ones.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching up to two three-credit-hour courses per semester, mentoring students, managing content creation, participating in scholarly and professional activities, and producing Spanish-language audio and video newscasts within the INC. Additional duties include digital content collaboration, shared governance, and other assigned responsibilities.
