Studio Assistant, Drawing and Painting Studio Classroom

This position involves supporting the full-time drawing and painting faculty by assisting with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the studio classroom on the North East campus. The role also includes promoting the Art and Design program through campus activities and supporting various art-related projects and events.
Responsibilities include:
- General care and maintenance of the studio classroom
- Keeping the classroom clean and organized
- Maintaining studio equipment and supplies
- Assisting with bulletin board displays and marketing materials
- Participating in campus art events and projects
- Completing required safety training
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Current college student or graduate with a background or training in art
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow directives, work independently, and take initiative
- Computer skills, including basic knowledge of spreadsheets and Word
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 3-6 hours per week, with some flexibility for campus events and meetings, aligned with Cecil College's fall and spring semester schedules.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical activities such as climbing, walking, and standing.
Work Environment:
Typical office and classroom safety precautions, including safe use of equipment and adherence to safety regulations.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly wage of $15, with benefits including sick leave, retirement options, disability, and access to college facilities.
Additional Information:
This is a non-exempt, hourly position (Grade 101). Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the US, without visa sponsorship. The position is posted until filled, with employment starting in the upcoming semester.
