Responsibilities
Public Relations
- Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns that raise brand awareness and credibility.
- Pitch stories and secure placements in top-tier national and regional media (e.g. Forbes, Goop, Well+Good, NYT, Buzzfeed, etc.).
- Build strong relationships with health, lifestyle, parenting, and pet industry journalists.
- Write compelling press releases, founder bios, media kits, and story angles.
- Identify and pitch our brands for industry awards, rankings, and features.
- Initiate meaningful influencer and brand collaborations.
- Plan and execute product launches, brand activations, and media events.
- Generate consistent information hooks (newsworthy content) for media and social platforms.
- Track press performance and report on PR KPIs.
Influencer Marketing
- Develop and manage influencer strategies across micro and macro levels.
- Identify, vet, and build authentic relationships with content creators who align with brand values.
- Coordinate product gifting, paid collaborations, and long-term ambassador programs.
- Collaborate with creators on compelling content that feels native, trustworthy, and on-brand.
- Track influencer performance, UGC usage rights, and ROI.
- Build scalable systems to nurture our creator community and turn fans into advocates.
Social Media & Content (in collaboration with social media marketing agency)
- Stay ahead of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube trends — and translate them into brand-relevant ideas
- Ensure our brands are consistent, creative, and relevant across all platforms
- Manage social media content agency (the agency is doing posting)
- Regularly pitch and test content ideas with high potential for engagement and shareability, participate in content creation when it’s needed (ideally, you enjoy shooting TikToks or Reels occasionally)
- Work closely with designers, content creators, and external agencies when needed
- Help grow our organic social presence and brand love through smart, authentic storytelling
- Highlight PR wins across social channels in fresh, engaging ways
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in PR, social media management, or communications—preferably in the health, wellness, or consumer goods sectors.
- Proficiency in many social media platforms
- Proven track record of securing earned media and growing social media engagement.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience working with influencers and third-party agencies.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools and PR platforms.
- Creative thinker with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with health supplement or pet wellness brands and/or companies like Golden Hippo is a strong plus.
