Position Overview
DRC is one of the largest educational assessment and curriculum/instruction companies in the industry. The Editor will be responsible for editing, copyediting, and proofreading a variety of test materials, including test passages, questions, technical reports, and educational materials in print and online formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Review documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, and style, adhering to the in-house style guide and The Chicago Manual of Style.
- Manage multiple editorial projects efficiently, maintaining high quality standards.
- Edit materials across all major subject areas: English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Receive and apply feedback from the editorial director.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, literature, linguistics, language studies, or communications.
- Expert knowledge of CMOS 18.
- 3-5 years of editing or copyediting experience, preferably in test development or a business setting.
- Ability to edit mathematical and scientific materials.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Workspace.
Additional Details
- Position is hybrid: 3 days in-office (Maple Grove, MN) and 2 days remote.
- Must demonstrate punctuality, ability to meet deadlines, and effective teamwork.
- Physical ability to sit and work at a computer up to 8 hours daily.
