Job Description
WSP is initiating a search for a Technical Director for our District of Columbia Bridge Inspection Group. This is a hybrid position, based out of our Washington D.C. and/or adjacent MD/VA offices. You will support the Mid-Atlantic District's bridge inspection team, assisting with business development and project execution for clients such as WMATA and DDOT.
You will leverage your education, licensure, and experience to independently evaluate the condition, function, and load capacity of bridges and their components, providing recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and perform bridge inspections in accordance with NBIS and AASHTO standards.
- Communicate critical findings to client staff.
- Lead and supervise field teams, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Prepare and review inspection reports and ensure technical standards are met.
- Support proposal and report development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited).
- 10+ years of bridge inspection experience, including with WMATA, DDOT, or similar clients.
- Experience managing bridge inspection projects in the DC area.
- Relevant NHI training, such as Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.
- Strong communication, leadership, and safety record.
- Ability to perform field work, including working at heights and in adverse weather.
Preferred Skills
- Additional NHI courses, NDT certifications, UAS or rope access experience.
Benefits and Compensation
Salary range: $149,200 - $300,410. WSP offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and more.
