We have an exciting opportunity for a senior-level Technical Director of Electrical Engineering to serve as the central voice for Electrical Engineering Design, developing and leading this discipline within PM Group. This role offers a chance to contribute strategically to the company's future and is a full-time, technically focused position within our design services.

The successful candidate will work with the Director of Engineering, other Discipline Technical Directors, and Heads of Services to ensure efficient and consistent delivery of design services across all 20 of our offices. This role significantly impacts the company's performance, safety, and the creation of a healthy, motivated work environment.

This senior role reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for leadership, governance, troubleshooting, and establishing best practices in Electrical Engineering Design. We offer a flexible, hybrid working environment, with options to work from Ireland, UK, Poland, or Belgium, and up to two days remote work per week.

Responsibilities

1. PM Group Strategy for Electrical Engineering
2. Develop a comprehensive strategy for Electrical Engineering across the Group, including capacity planning.
3. Support Business Units in strengthening their departments through profiling, identifying competency gaps, and training needs.
4. Develop specialized SME areas within Electrical Engineering, such as sustainability.
5. Align and develop cross-functional competencies with Architecture and other Engineering disciplines.
6. Define design activities and deliverables for core sectors to ensure safety and efficiency.

1. Digitalisation of Business Processes / Ways of Working
2. Implement strategies for continuous improvement of Electrical Engineering services.
3. Enhance the Electrical Engineering Service Delivery Platform within our Quality Management System.
4. Create standardized group-wide working practices considering local codes and norms.
5. Integrate digital tools like lean design DeLPD and sector-specific approaches.
6. Manage investments in business transformation projects.

1. Governance of Design Delivery
2. Support sales proposals and establish key project watch lists based on design challenges and risks.
3. Influence early design stages and chair Single Discipline Design Reviews for key projects.
4. Review safety documentation and contribute to go/no-go decisions for high-risk projects.

1. Troubleshooting
2. Serve as a first responder for critical electrical engineering issues across the Group.
3. Engage with senior internal and client teams to resolve issues and define corrective actions.
4. Act as Technical Sponsor for corrective measures and update management on progress.

Qualifications

• Passion for Electrical Engineering and a focus on safe asset management.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Significant industry experience, including senior management roles.
• Knowledge of Pharma, Med Tech, and Data Center industries.
• Membership in a recognized engineering professional body (e.g., Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers).
• Strong technical, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Self-starter, decisive, and fluent in English.
