Description

We are actively seeking a talented and visionary Director of Game Design to join our team and lead the creative charge in our Chicago studio. We are looking for a strategic thinker and a master communicator who can lead and inspire!

What Will You Be Doing?

As the Director of Game Design, you will be leading a small team of designers and act as a driving force behind the creation of captivating games, contributing to the Gaming portfolio of our Chicago studio.

Work Arrangement:This position offers a hybrid remote and in-office experience, inviting you to immerse yourself in our creative hub at least 2-3 days a week. These in-office days are not just about work; they're about sparking creativity, fostering collaboration, and bringing game-changing ideas to life. Key Responsibilities Include:Design Authority:

Take the lead as the authority of design for multiple games, steering creative direction.Market Insight:

Lead and communicate field research analysis, maintain industry knowledge to understand and convey player profiles for ongoing development of new game design features and products.High-Priority Concepts:

Generate and execute high-priority game concepts.Strategic Evaluation:

Evaluate features, make informed long-term recommendations, and plan user testing to ensure the success of game designs that appeal to player demographics.Cross-disciplinary Communication:

Review product documentation, and ensure clear communication of ideas, concepts, and requirements across multiple disciplines.Project Leadership:

Communicate project progress to leadership, guide cross-functional teams based on project changes, and maintain an understanding of industry trends and diverse player behaviors.Requirements Communication:

Ensure game design requirements are clearly communicated, driving design buy-in and ensuring project success.

Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise for the job:

Required Qualifications:6+ years' experience in a game design or production role, with a strong preference for industry experience.In-depth knowledge of gameplay features and game development.Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across diverse backgrounds and disciplines.Proficiency in project management tools and skills.Understanding of company products, competitive landscape, player psychology, and expectations.Proven ability to execute parallel projects and deadlines.Proficient understanding in areas such as math, art, audio, hardware, technology restrictions, documentation, and UX.A Plus if You Have:

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Art, or a related discipline, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.Success in leading market research and analytics, evaluating product viability, predicting market acceptance, and setting trends in the industry.What's In It For You?

The compensation for this role considers a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location at which the position may ultimately be filled. At Everi, it is not typical for all individuals to be hired at or near the end of the range; compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $135,000 - $173,000 annually.
