Rhombus Power seeks a highly motivated
UI/UX Developer
to join our fast-growing team that is delivering complex enterprise solutions.
We're seeking colleagues that are intrinsically motivated to create positive user experiences and build efficient systems, at speed, for our industry-first, national security related projects. If you enjoy the craft of building rock solid user interfaces and creating meaningful client experiences, then Rhombus is the place.
Candidates are expected to bring a proven track record of working across teams, rapidly developing, iterating, and delivering UIs that meet the client's needs for look, feel and interaction, as well as meeting the technical needs for function, efficiency and accessibility for web applications.
You can expect to work with customer stakeholders, product, engineering, and leadership teams on existing, and future products that are changing the way US policy decisions are being made. The position requires US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Government Security clearance. It will be based in either Washington, DC (Right on the Yellow Line), or at our HQ in Palo Alto, California.
Responsibilities
Work closely product/design team to vet and refine requirements, design concepts and prototypes, then bring those design artifacts to lifeIdentify areas for improvement from the code base, to processes. Champion best practices and standards and push for their implementation.Proactively look for ways to improve existing products.Contribute to our nascent design system.Create and maintain accurate guidelines and repositories of design specifications and components to ensure a cohesive, consistent framework for UI implementationsBe engaged in helping develop team process and practicesMinimum Qualifications
3+ years of work experience as a UI/UX Developer for web applicationsStrong proficiency in HTML, CSS, Javascript and UI Frameworks (React, Angular etc) and familiarity with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind etc)Competency in CSS pre-processing. SCSS preferredFamiliarity with source code version control, preferably Git reposExperience contributing to and maintaining design systems, including component documentationDemonstrable expertise in UX/UI development for web applicationsCompetency with design tools like Figma and xD.An eye for the details understanding of design principlesHave a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologiesUS Citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications
Relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development, Web Design, or related fieldsExperience with graphing/charting libraries, HighCharts preferablyExperience with JS based interactive mapsExperience with StorybookPortfolio, Demos or pet projects to demonstrate your skillsActive Government security clearance of Secret or higherBenefits
