The Amazon Prime UX team is at the heart of the Prime membership. We innovate and research on behalf of our customers and are relentlessly focused on improving the membership experience to delight customers around the globe. To accomplish that, we are seeking a Sr. UX Researcher to join our growing team and help define and improve the end-to-end Prime CX. Prime UX researchers and designers work with global Product, Marketing, Branding, Data Science, and Tech team partners, to deliver compelling customer experiences for Amazon.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior UX Researcher for Prime UX, who will support highly visible, strategic UX-driven initiatives that guide the future of Amazon Prime. You’ll collaborate with the Design, Engineering, and Product teams of Prime UX, and support collaboration across all of the business and technology teams within Prime Worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the next generation of Amazon Prime, the underlying research and development that powers it at scale, and to establish and build the standardized processes and mechanisms that will define how Prime UX operates and collaborates with partner teams. This role also will help define, invent, and execute new operations capabilities within Prime UX; be in front of requests for UX-led initiatives; and coordinate continuous planning and the operation of UX as a shared service within Prime.

We are seeking a strong qualitative Senior UX Researcher with an interest in diving deep into how Amazon can enable internal and external customers make informed decisions to reduce emissions through the tooling we build.

Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences.

Collect and analyze user behavior through surveys and benchmark studies.

Work with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to prioritize research opportunities.

Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.

Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations

Basic Qualifications

At least 7+ years of experience contributing to the design of digital products and services, with a strong demonstration of past work experience, deliverables, and the ability to extract actionable insights from data that illustrates how your research contributed to this success.

Broad experience developing and running a full range of research methods: qualitative and quantitative, attitudinal and behavioral, with deep expertise in one or more areas.

Deep understanding of the design process and how research is appropriately integrated at each phase.

Deep understanding of human motivations, capabilities, and limitations as applied to the design of interactive systems.

Demonstrated effectiveness in written, verbal, and visual communication skills; ability to distill complex ideas into concise and accurate narratives that enlighten and inspire.

Ability to independently drive multiple concurrent projects in an agile environment.

Ability to mentor and guide others to successful outcomes.

Strategic, business-building approach to UX research with a passion for translating data into bottom-line impact.

Passion for understanding the latest learnings and innovations in behavioral science, research methods, and UX design and applying these to your work.

Bachelor’s degree in Customer Research, Statistics, or a related field of study

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on experience conducting UX and market research in an applied setting.

MA/MS in Customer Research, HCI, Statistics, or a related field of study

Solid portfolio of qualitative data analysis informing digital product decisions and resulting in improved customer outcomes

Experience using survey and qualitative analysis tools like Qualtrics, SPSS, and UserTesting

Programmatic research experience defining and prioritizing customer segments and conducting foundational UX research

Experience researching and developing experiences for global markets

Thinking big, yet nimbly, in a highly results-driven, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
