Essential Function

Our UX team has a strong voice in product strategy and works closely with engineers and product managers to build experiences that help our customers gain confidence and self-expression. As a UX/UI Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall experience quality for a set of products and workflows. You will lead a multidisciplinary UX/UI team made up of UX, IxD, and UI designers to deliver the best possible experience for our customers throughout the US. In this role you'll be highly focused on our UI, visual, and interaction design. You'll work alongside UX researchers, UX designers, product managers and engineering teams to explore, build, and launch your ideas.

% of Primary Duties25Leads a UX/UI team through a fast-moving landscape, establishing clear definitions of quality to enable your team to ship exceptional user experiences on your projects, manage your design team's timelines, capacity, and project deadlines, while also providing growth opportunities.20Leads design projects and execute visual design to better create engaging and intuitive digital experiences. Translate customer insights and UX architecture into tangible design deliverables within defined timelines, that produce best-in-class visual and brand design to our customers and prospects.20Own and evolve our design systems and lead the designers responsible for this in an effort to cultivate a coherent look and feel across the digital product footprint.20Utilizes industry standard design tools to create user interfaces, interactive prototypes, and interactions with customers. Constantly looking for tools and processes that will make SBH more efficient and elevate the digital experience for our customers.15Active engagement and interaction with key stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

6+ years of UX/UI experienceManaged a team of product designers in a multidisciplinary UX environment, and were responsible for their mentorship and career developmentExperience recruiting and building diverse UX/UI Design teamsDemonstrated ability in creating, maintaining, and evolving scalable, enterprise design systemsExtensive knowledge of the end-to-end iterative product design process, including how to develop and use personas, journey mapping, content modelling, wireframing and prototyping, user testing, high-fidelity visuals, and dev handoffDemonstrated ability in creating design deliverables (information architecture diagrams, wireframes, conceptual sketches, prototypes, and screen flows)A deep empathy for the user and a desire to learn as much as possible about how they interact with Sally BeautyExcellent communication and storytelling skills; you have the ability to help your team and stakeholders understand the "why" behind your design rationaleExperience working directly with business stakeholdersCompetencies / Attributes

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
