Senior Data Engineer, Prime Video Product Analytics

Description

The Prime Video Product Analytics team's mission is to provide proactive recommendations to make timely data-driven product decisions via trusted data products, analyses and training at every step of the product development life-cycle across in-app experience, signup funnel, discovery and experimentation. To help us fulfill this mission, we are looking for a customer-obsessed senior data engineer with proven experience to help our team answer hard questions by leveraging massive datasets. You'll work cross functionally with business intelligence, product, and client engineering teams to build scalable infrastructure, data solutions and help detect/resolve underlying data issues. You will apply cloud-based AWS services to solve challenging problems around: big data processing, data warehouse design, and enabling self-service. You will focus on automation and optimization for all areas of Data Lake/ETL maintenance and deployment. This role is unique high impact going both breadth and depth - you will have the opportunity to work with cross-cutting datasets across Prime Video while also becoming an expert on specific areas of the business.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of data engineering experience

Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Experience with SQL

Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

Experience mentoring team members on best practices

5+ years of data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence or business analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
