With global opportunities for talented technologists, you can decide where a career Prime Video Tech takes you!The Prime Video (PV) Global Brand & Digital Intelligence team is hiring a passionate and solution oriented Sr. Data Scientist to build new scientific approaches to evaluate and strengthen the overall health of the PV brand and digital presence globally.You are a strategic-minded professional with a proven track record of using machine learning and statistical approaches to drive business outcomes. You will be expected to work on numerous aspects of Machine Learning such as feature engineering, predictive modeling, probabilistic modeling, hyper-parameter tuning, scalable inference methods and reinforcement learning.Key job responsibilitiesDesign, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative data and machine learning solutions to accelerate our business.Proactively and independently work with stakeholders to construct use cases and associated standardized outputsOperationalize creation of reports across multiple large data sources to inform ongoing business reviewsActively manage the timeline and deliverables of projectsParticipate in regular leadership meetings and communicate roadblocks to stakeholders and propose solutionsCollaborate with other team leads to set the vision for the organizations Data Science capabilityCreate and run experiments as needed to evaluate the impact of potential changes to in-app brandingCreate and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholderAbout the teamPrime Video offers customers a vast collection of movies, series, and sportsall available to watch on hundreds of compatible devices. We work closely with teams responsible for planning and executing strategies to drive the future of the PV brand. As part of the broader PV organization, you will have the opportunity to partner with and learn from a strong community of data scientists, economists, software developers and more.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Culver City, CA, USABasic QualificationsMaster's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science, or Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of professional or military experience6+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience6+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experienceSuperior verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-expertsExperience managing data pipelinesExperience working with social and brand tracking dataExperience documenting modeling for technical and business leadersPreferred QualificationsExperience as a leader and mentor on a data science teamExperience working with market researchers, scientists, economists, software developers, or product managersPrior experience working in the entertainment industryPrior experience working in an ambiguous and constantly changing environmentPrior experience working in both the US and internationally or in a global functionAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
