Videographer and PhotographerAs a Videographer and Photographer at New England College of Optometry, you will play a pivotal role in capturing the essence of our institution's mission, activities, and achievements through compelling visual storytelling. You will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to create high-quality video content that engages our diverse audience, including students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, hybrid position requiring presence at campus locations for photography and filming.
Videographer and Photographer Responsibilities:1. Video Production: Conceptualize, plan, and execute video projects that align with the college's strategic goals and objectives. This includes but is not limited to promotional videos, educational content, event coverage, interviews, and documentaries. Photography: photograph signature campus events involving student, faculty, and staff.2. Content Development: Collaborate with instructional design and marketing leadership/staff to identify opportunities for video content creation and photography. Translate complex optometric concepts and initiatives into accessible and engaging visual narratives.3. Filming and Editing: Utilize professional filming equipment and editing software to capture and edit high-quality footage. Ensure technical excellence in video production, including lighting, sound, composition, and post-production effects.4. Creative Direction: Provide creative input and direction throughout the video production and photographic process. Offer innovative ideas for storytelling techniques, visual aesthetics, and audience engagement strategies.5. Project Management: Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, from pre-production planning to post-production delivery. Coordinate schedules, resources, and logistics to ensure timely and successful project completion.6. Brand Consistency: Maintain brand consistency and adherence to style guidelines across all video and photographic content. Uphold the college's visual identity and messaging standards in every production.7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, graphic design, and web development, to integrate photographic and video content into broader communication strategies and campaigns.8. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in videography and multimedia production. Proactively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge through training and professional development.

Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Multimedia Journalism, Digital Media, or related field (preferred)Proven experience in videography, cinematography, video editing, and photography, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects and stylesProficiency with professional video equipment (cameras, lighting, audio) and editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred)Excellent storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail, composition, and visual aestheticsStrong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamPassion for visual storytelling and a genuine interest in optometry, healthcare, and educationAbility to work independently and respect deadlines
