Job Summary
This position will assist with drives the performance and results of the communications, marketing, and ticketing office and comprehensive knowledge of communications strategy to advance the GSU Department of Athletics.Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with coordinating the activities of the athletic communications officeGreat understanding of sports information game day duties and operationsExcellent writing skillsAssist with the production of media guides, Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) booklets, season ticket packets, schedules and game programsAssist in providing statistical coverage for football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, bowling, and tennis contestsAssist with press box coordination and operations for home games and press eventsAssist with the management of the athletic website (gsutigers.com) by writing timely game previews and recaps updating results with links to box scores and writing season previews and recapsAssist with staff, coach and student-athlete biographiesMaintain digital archive of action and team photosAssist with timely submission of statistics to SWAC, NCAA and local mediaEndure timely updates of statistics for all sports on Grambling State University Athletic websiteAbility to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and external media membersAttention to details and effective time management skillsAbide by all NCAA, SWAC and University rules and regulationsQualifications
Minimum:
Two or more years of experienceEffective written/oral communicationMust be computer literateExperiencing using stat software (stat crew, NCAA Genius)Ability to work nights and weekendsSound judgment and maturityPreferred:
Bachelor's DegreePrevious experience in intercollegiate athletics or communicationsSupplemental Information
