(Data, Integration, Visualization, Evaluation)
is seeking a
Programmer/Analyst
skilled in
statistical analysis , data
visualization , and
data science
techniques. The DIVE team applies data science and informatics techniques to data problems arising in all facets of the academic enterprise, from education to research to strategic initiatives. This role will aim to drive growth and maintenance of education and research data warehouses and analysis pipelines, academic applications, and the informatics components of strategic projects. With multiple strategic combinations drastically increasing the scope of data and services managed by Informatics, this position will help address the information needs of these increases and other changes associated with this rapid growth.
Duties include:
Attend project and departmental meetings and contribute to the project design concerning data management needsCollaborate with faculty, team leads, and stakeholders to anticipate, define, and satisfy data needsUtilize visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI to design and implement interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support various enterprise initiativesDevelop data preprocessing pipelines to ensure high-quality input for models and algorithmsConduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencyDocument code, methodologies, and results for effective knowledge sharingDevelop and maintain data visualization best practices and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all reportingConduct regular evaluations of existing visualizations to ensure continued accuracy and identify areas for improvementPerforms other related duties as neededEssential Skills
Strong experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or R ShinyWorking knowledge of research methods and statistical techniques, and how to apply them accurately and appropriatelyFamiliarity and experience with Agile or a similar project management methodologySuperior oral and written communication skills to translate complex data into consumable visualizations and into presentable digestible explanationsWorking knowledge of SQL, Oracle and SQL Server databasesProven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneouslyExperience in continuous quality improvement methodologies and practices a plusFamiliarity with medical data, standards, and terminology a plusExperience working in a cloud environment a plus
Education/Experience
Programmer/Analyst I - non exempt
Bachelor's degree with relevant technical courses and experience in computer programming or statistics required.Programmer/Analyst II - exempt
Bachelor's degree with relevant technical courses and experience in computer programming or statistics required.Two (2) years' experience in computer programming or operations research.Hybrid work environment
This position is eligible for mostly-to-fully remote work.
