Room & Board is seeking a talented and innovative UX Manager to spearhead the design and delivery of beautifully functional digital experiences across multiple platforms including mobile and web. In this newly created role on our Web Experience design team, you'll report to the Director of Web & Email Strategy and play a pivotal role in inspiring and leading a team of (4) designers to create solutions that not only align with our design system and brand aesthetic, but also delight our customers and drive efficiencies in the work of our staff members.

*Please note: Hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days in the office, including some flexibility to support the team and/or business needs.

In the UX Manager role, you will share your talents in the following ways:Lead the UX design team on a day-to-day basis, developing, inspiring, and coaching the team in user experience, interaction design, and visual design growth, while guiding them to create beautiful, simple, usable, and accessible solutions within our technical capabilities and infrastructure, and pushing for innovation where it makes senseWork with leadership to forecast, plan and prioritize UX resourcing across our digital portfolio, matching colleague skills and interests with project opportunitiesSet expectations with project teams and prioritize activities; ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged across projectsFoster a culture of ongoing user research and testing, operationalizing the work done to date and encouraging a responsibility to "test early, test often" across the teamLead cross-functional service design visioning sessions to identify experience and process gaps and bring forward prioritized recommendations to address through projectsBuild and maintain a healthy UX culture within the team and promote engagement with the UX team across the organizationStay informed of the latest developments in online retail, customer behavior and advancements in technology, sharing that knowledge and perspective with the team and your peersManage tool identification, periodic reevaluation, licensing and renewalThe qualifications and experiences you bring as a UX Manager:

8 or more years of progressive experience in the UX field, showcasing growth and development over time; minimum 3 years in team management.Expert practitioner of a user-centered design process with previous leadership experienceEducational/training background in UX design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or another UX-adjacent field strongly preferredA track record of bringing a systems-thinking approach to digital experiences, including auditing and building pattern libraries and digital design systems, in partnership with designers, developers and product ownersAbility to mentor and provide creative leadership, set and maintain high creative standards, and bring innovation to the businessFamiliarity with web accessibility principles and the knowledge and desire to ensure the experiences the team creates are accessible to all customersAbility to motivate and work within a collaborative team environment with the flexibility to adapt to emerging priorities and handle unexpected challenges effectivelyA curious learner who remains current with industry advancements and changes, adept at asking the right question at the right time, and helps others understand the importance of doing soPrevious experience running cross-functional service design sessions preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in presentations and facilitating meetings, with an inclusive and adaptable approach to guiding conversationsExperience working within an Agile environment using Atlassian JIRA strongly desiredExemplify our Staff Member Attributes: Authentic, Collaborative, Curious, Inclusive & Work EthicPermanent authorization to work in the United States without corporate sponsorshipsHow your success will be measured as a UX Manager:

Salary:
