There are some caveats to testing the folks at Gizmodo did on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint et al 3G networks: “We didn’t test dropped voice calls, we didn’t test customer service, and we didn’t test map coverage by wandering around in the boonies.” But they did go through the networks’ ability to deliver 3G data “in and around (12) cities including both concrete canyons and picket-fenced ‘burbs.”

Maybe the most important takeaway “And while every 3G network gave us troubles on occasion, AT&T’s wasn’t measurably more or less reliable than Verizon’s.” Click here for the rundown.
