Well, it’s been a busier day than expected. The latest agency news to come down the pipeline this Monday is that Diamond Foods has appointed Deutsch LA as as its U.S. agency of record on its Emerald and Diamond of California nuts, Pop Secret popcorn and Kettle Brand potato chips brands.

Regarding his company’s choice, Diamond’s VP/CMO Andrew Burke says in a statement, “We wanted an agency that could deliver a high level of creativity and take an integrated approach to our communications needs. We were very impressed with the team at Deutsch LA. They are a true business partner that will bring a high level of energy and creativity to our brands as we look to continue our strong record of growth.”

Deutsch LA beat out Ogilvy West, Butler, Shine Stern & Partners and Mother New York in the pitch for Diamond, which previously worked with Goodby.
