W+K Portland Helps Craig Robinson Protect His Dodge Dart

Amazingly, comedians Craig Robinson and Jake Johnson had yet to appear in any major films, shows or campaigns together before this week.

That all changed with the release of these inaugural clips in W+K Portland‘s new campaign for client Dodge. The theme is simple: no one can touch Robinson’s new Dart — even his equally famous and strangely nosy neighbor.

That’s the first of three :30 spots…

Riester Releases ‘Farm’ for Voskos Greek Yogurt

Phoenix-based agency Riester teamed up with Backyard Productions to create “Farm,” a new spot for Voskos Greek Yogurt.

In addition to having the word “farm” in the title, Riester’s 30 second spot also has a similar (perhaps Chipotle-inspired) approach to Chobani’s “Farmland” spot. Like that ad, “Farm” emphasizes the natural ingredients they put in their Greek yogurt (in this case Voskos), while employing pastoral shots of cows and fresh fruit. Unlike the Chobani spot, “Farm” doesn’t spend time taking down the competition, instead launching into the brand’s virtues, via the cheery voiceover and footage of a girl picking fruit with her family and enjoying a cup of Voskos while sitting on a fence. It’s a slightly simpler tactic than Chobani’s, foregoing the takedown of competitors for more of an emphasis on wholesomeness. The brand’s “Happiness in Every Spoonful” tagline exemplifies the slight difference in approach — whereas Chobani takes a stab at competitors (while opening themselves up to scrutiny), Voskos just wants to let you know that their yogurt tastes good and will make you happy. Gob Gets Job as AT&T Pitchman

Arrested Development star Will Arnett, who’s no stranger to commercial work having served as the VO on GMC truck ads and co-creator of those Orbit shorts along with Jason Bateman, hams it up in a new holiday campaign from BBDO for AT&T dubbed “You’ve Got a Case.” Here, the comedic actor plays a lawyer-for-hire named Kent Wesley and plugs the telecom giant’s 4G smartphone/Facebook app with a bit more cockiness, charm and pizazz than chubby Luke Wilson. It’s everything you’d expect from the man who’s resurrecting his classic role as Gob in the near future thanks to Netflix. Credits, which will tell you that is not the handiwork of new AT&T creatives Rick Ardito and Grant Smith, after the jump.

Nash, Solo Go Toe-to-Toe in ‘FIFA Soccer 12′

When he’s not starring or moonlighting in VitaminWater ads, getting Bieberized on the b-ball court or directing documentaries, Renaissance man/NBA star Steve Nash is making the most of his lockout time by, yes, playing video games with the one-and-only Hope Solo. In this latest EA Sports campaign from San Francisco’s Heat (and production company Skunk), the sports pros do battle in a game of FIFA Soccer 12. Nash once again shows off his great dry wit in a little pre-game trash talk, where he describes himself as “a gorilla and a leopard” with the straightest of faces. Guess it can be kinda fun watching other people play video games after all

If the Nash/Solo battle doesn’t suit you, a second spot in the Soccer 12 Matchups series stars Landon Donovan and SF Giants pitcher Tim “I’m Not the Guy from Dazed & Confused” Lincecum. See below. Credits after the jump.

Update: Along with getting a credits update (Rehab actually produced the Tim/Landon spot), we forgot to mention why we thought of this campaign in the first place and that’s the 60-second spot we first saw yesterday on Stereogum starring Nash, Solo and SNL‘s Seth Meyers and featuring Battles “Ice Cream” from their great new album, Drop Gloss. Watch it after the jump.
