Duncan/Channon Celebrates Summer for Tahoe South

With summer still a month away, Duncan/Channon is rolling out a campaign celebrating the hottest season for Tahoe South.

The new campaign, “Team Summer” kicks off today with a 30-second broadcast spot and digital campaign, with OOH components rolling out in June. “Summer Rules Your Face,” the 30-second broadcast spot, gets a bit silly, as you might expect from the trying too hard to be cool title. That about sums up the approach of the spot actually, which lists all the reasons summer is the best. The spot was shot in Tahoe South with locals, and will be broadcast “on Comedy Central, Bravo, FX, E!, Discovery, and TBS in Northern California as well as on Comcast Sports during broadcasts of A’s and Giants games.”

Duncan/Channon’s digital and print campaign “celebrates all the wonderful things Tahoe South offers seasonally by establishing personalities for the seasons.” The digital component pits the seasons and their loyalists against each other on the campaign’s website. “As we all know,” the site’s copy reads, “the world is made up of two kinds of people: those who play for #teamsummer and those on the roster of #teamwinter,” completely ignoring half of the seasons for some reason. Stick around for credits after the jump. Read more

Taco Bell is Excited About Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, Therefore You Must Be, Too

Hey, did you know that Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos tacos now come in a Cool Ranch variety? Of course you did, and you and your 20-something-year-old friends are probably celebrating in a parking lot or pool hall right now according to this spot from DraftFCB. “By golly, what a wonderful new offering,” you thought to yourself. “I should throw a Doritos bag containing a taco to my similarly aged friend across town. That is what I shall do.” And then you did.

Taco 12 Pack Brings the Party

Forget the ad for a second. $10 for 12 tacos? That’s a deal…a really good deal. That can feed three totally stoned college kids watching every Lord of the Rings extended edition film back to back. That is for those kids driving mom’s minivan to the Taco Bell drive-thru after a night hotboxing the thing with their buddies while blasting Chiddy Bang‘s “The Good Life” with her windows rolled all the way down. That is for some wasted guy on the floor asking over and over again why Taco Bell doesn’t deliver before calling his buddy and offering him 50 bucks to get him the “Taco 12 Pack” and drive to his house with it.

Taco Bell knows that, during the commercial breaks on Adult Swim, they just have to emphasize the quantity of their deals next to a low price. Do the items of food outnumber the dollar amount? Good, it’s an ad then. The rest, well, is up to DraftFCB Orange County, and that means that wherever this guys takes his Taco 12 Pack, the party gets started. What else do you need to know? Credits after the jump.
