Adams&Partners Launches First-Ever thinkThin Campaign

Newly-launched Venice,California-based agency Adams&Partners have debuted the first-ever campaign for thinkThin, which positions the “nutritionally balanced high protein bars” as something you don’t have to feel guilty about — unlike some other things.

The 30-second “Runner” takes this idea in a somewhat uncomfortable direction, with a group of women lecherously staring at a nearby guy on a morning run. When he passes them, he recognizes one of the women, saying, “Oh, hey Mrs. Adams. Hey, say ‘hi’ to Brian for me.” A voiceover follows, saying, “There are lots of things to feel guilty about. thinkThin isn’t one of them.” A second spot, “Text”also tackles mom guilt issues, but chooses a less uncomfortable target than staring at your son’s friend’s ass, which perhaps takes the approach a bit too far.

“We all have things that we feel guilty about,” explained Chris Adams, executive creative director at Adams&Partners. “This campaign is about laughing at the little things that make us feel guilty every day, while making the more serious point that eating thinkThin bars is something you should never have to feel guilty about.”

We’ve included “Text,” along with credits, after the jump. Read more

Grey Promotes Livingston, Forms Possible Worldwide Partnership

Don’t sound the death knell for Possible Worldwide just yet. Though the Austin office might have disappeared and some of its top execs have defected in recent months, the WPP interactive operation is still thriving according to a memo penned by Tor Myhren and Michael Houston, president/CCO and managing director, respectively, of sister agency Grey New York. It appears that a “strategic partnership” has been formed between the sibling shops and as part of Grey NY’s increased focus on digital, the agency promoted five-year vet Doug Livingston (pictured) to EVP, director of digital integration while also solidifying its digital leadership. But why spoil the rest, read on in full after the jump.

Grey NY Updates Digital Group, Golden Out

Well, it looks like the chief digital officer experiment didn’t quite work out as planned at Grey New York, as the agency has confirmed that it has parted ways with Josh Golden after just six months. We’ve been told by sources familiar with the matter that “it didn’t work out.” Golden joined Grey last September from Euro RSCG, where he was managing director, digital for three years.

Anyhow, Grey is moving on and bolstering its digital division with the hires of Marci Ikeler as director of digital strategy, Andy Bhatt as director of digital production operations and Ina Watkins as director of communications planning. Ikeler will join in May and most recently served as director of digital strategy at Publicis, where she worked on accounts including Citibank, Becks and Maytag. Bhatt, who will also join up with Grey next month, most recently served as MD of Domani Studios but also spent time as head of interactive production at both BBDO and W+K New York. Watkins is yet another BBDO alum who served as VP, engagement director on Bank of America at said agency.
