Ah yes, the 2012-13 NBA regular season is almost upon us and to get things warmed up, Goodby Silverstein & Partners has unveiled the spot above called “Countdown,” which is part of the agency’s larger, ongoing campaign for the Association dubbed “BIG.” The tick-tock syncs up well with the rituals of several players including Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant and Andre Iguodala, leaving us hyped enough for the Kia tip-off next week. Still, it remains to be seen if every hoopster in this cast will be healthy enough for opening night. Credits after the jump.

Is there any bigger Halloween buzzkill than running over trick-or-treaters with your luxury automobile? Not only does it take a toll on your conscience, but the necessary repair work can run a high bill, especially if you’re driving an imported specialty vehicle.
With the Audi A6′s thermal imaging and night vision assistant technology, the holiday revelry doesn’t have to end on the way from the bar to the afterparty. The above spot, created by AKQA, reminds drivers of the 41 million little monsters on the roads this year (not to mention their accompanying parents, who make for slightly larger but equally frightening monsters). As we’ve been told, the technology, which can detect pedestrians up to 300 feet away, is displayed in the spot with no special effects added.
While Audi A6 drivers can enjoy Halloween with added security, those of you who choose to be cruising around in different cars should remember to keep an eye out, keep the speed down, and keep your car stereo blasting “The Monster Mash” to a reasonable level. Credits after the jump.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s L.A. office continues to grow out its creative department as we’ve received confirmation that creative director Ryan Jacobs is headed over to said agency from Saatchi & Saatchi LA. Jacobs was a principal/CD at Mint Design before freelancing at Goodby then eventually heading over to Saatchi LA to take a CD post under Mike McKay in 2008. At CP+B, Jacobs will serve as a creative director on the Old Navy account and work on new business.
CP+B ECD Tiff Rolfe comments, “We’re excited to have Ryan as part of the new LA team,” said Tiff Rolfe, VP executive creative director at CP+B. “His design background and rebranding experience will add a great asset to our team for our current brands and new client initiatives.”
From what we hear, though, Jacobs isn’t the only S&S defection this week as ACD Matt Titone has apparently split for B-Reel while art director Michael Gurman has moved up the coast to take a gig at AKQA. We’re double-checking with our sources on this, but three creative defections at one time does raise some eyebrows, though S&S has given us drunken egg nog/beer pong holiday hijinks and the occasional Prius campaign.
