Council Joins Dennelly at Evoke

Just over a month after G2′s executive director, strategy Mike Dennelly left the agency (again) to take on a gig at a healthcare-focused shop called Evoke Interaction, his old colleague Geoff Council is following suit. Council has spent the last two years as executive creative director at G2 and five in total at the agency. Once again, it appears that the parting is amicable as the G2 camp tells us “it’s a great opportunity for [Council],” and that he’s “a great guy, well-liked and we’re going to miss him.” No word yet on what Council’s “opportunity” at Evoke is exactly, but we’ve been told his last day at G2 is next Friday.

Prior to G2, Council held creative posts at the likes of Euro RSCG and Draftfcb.

Dennelly Leaving G2, Part Two

After another go-around at at G2, Mike Dennelly is once again leaving the agency. Dennelly, if you remember, rejoined G2 as executive director, strategy just over a year ago after a six-month stint at McGarryBowen. From what we gather, the parting of ways once again is amicable and Dennelly is leaving for a managing director position at a New York-based agency that focuses on digital healthcare. Sources are telling us that said agency is called Evoke Interaction.

Dennelly spent five years at G2 during his first tour of duty and served as SVP, strategic planning during that time. No exact date has been set for his departure to his next gig as of yet.

We Hear: Mike Dennelly Back at G2?

It appears that Mike Dennelly‘s on-again, off-again relationship with G2 is back on again as sources tell us that Dennelly has rejoined the agency and starts today. Dennelly left G2 (again) last September for McGarryBowen and a gig at said agency’s Digital Lab.

With Wendy Lurrie now out at G2, spies say Dennelly felt more “comfortable” in returning to the fold (or maybe it was just that MB wasn’t the right fit) and in doing so, will once again report to Eric Pakurar, who joined as head of U.S. head of strategy/planning. We’re double checking with G2 to find out what Dennelly’s exact title is.

Update: Dennelly has joined G2 as executive director, digital strategy.

We Hear: Mike Dennelly Resigns from G2

It seems like only yesterday that we reported that Mike Dennelly was promoted to director of digital strategy at G2 USA. But now, numerous sources are telling us that Dennelly has resigned from his post after just four months. According to one spy familiar with the matter, Dennelly’s promotion was G2′s attempt to bring together several G2 agencies into “One G2″ and build its digital capabilities, but the exec was thwarted by in-fighting and lack of new business and digital work. From what we’ve been told, Dennelly, who had been with G2 for over five years, is headed to McGarryBowen to work on the digital side, though his exact position is yet unknown. We’re checking with both camps for more on the matter.
