Argonaut Adds Another CD to the Fold

weilawsmallAnd now, some quick people news to break things up a bit. It looks like Goodby alums Hunter Hindman and Rick Condos have been ramping up the creative department at their fellow San Francisco-based operation, Argonaut, as of late. Just weeks after welcoming former Deutsch LA EVP/group digital CD David Kim aboard, Argonaut has brought on CP+B alum Chean Wei Law as their newest creative director. Wei Law, aka undoboy, spent the last three-plus years at CP+B, serving as interactive design director and working on notable projects including the nifty outdoor Jell-O Mood Meter while also helping lead design departments for other agency clients including Domino’s, Coke Zero and Old Navy.  Prior to CP+B, Wei Law spent a few years as an art director at both W+K Portland and JWT New York.

Now at Argonaut, the CD will  work directly with head of creative technology and production Robbie Whiting while reporting to Hindman and Condos.

Draftfcb’s Whiting Splits for Duncan/Channon

It looks like Robbie Whiting‘s promotion at Draftfcb San Francisco just didn’t take. Barely three-and-a-half months after getting bumped up to SVP, director of integrated production and technology at the agency, Whiting has split for Duncan/Channon, where he will take on the rather similar-sounding role of director of creative technology and production.

Along with being impressed by D/C’s digital work for brands like Hard Rock, Whiting says in a statement that he was also attracted to the agency because he “…felt a strong connection to the team’s non-traditional creative spirit and was impressed by the care with which they’ve nurtured the agency’s principles and artistic culture.”

As mentioned back in June when we reported on his Draft promotion, Whiting’s advertising resume also includes a five-year stint at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA, where he served as creative technology director, helped build the agency’s digital practice and worked with Nissan, Pepsi, Visa, Mars and Gatorade.

Whiting Gets Promoted at Draftfcb SF

After spending two years as VP, creative technology and digital production at Draftfcb San Francisco, Robbie Whiting can now add an “S” to his title as the exec has been bumped up to SVP, director of integrated production and technology, which is a newly created role at the agency. Wow, a digital guy taking over the overall production reins at an agency? Never heard of it.

Anyhow, with his new role, Whiting will now of course oversee everything within Draft SF’s production realm from broadcast, print and digital to art buying and experiential. Prior to Draftfcb, Whiting spent five years at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA as creative technology director, helping build the agency’s digital practice and working with clients including Nissan, Pedigree, Pepsi, Visa, Mars (RIP) and Gatorade along the way.

Along with Whiting’s promotion, Draft SF elevated five-year agency vet Vicki Wagner to SVP, director of account management. Along with her new leadership role, Wagner will still continue to lead the Docker’s account.
