Deutsch offers up this making-of video for the Black Beetle VW spot, which played during the Super Bowl yet was overshadowed by the automaker’s other big game entry starring the young Darth Vader.

A lot of work went into the making of this spot from a three-ton set design to a boat load of CGI and some really smart thinking. We’re not going to give it all away, as everything is there for your visual enjoyment in the video above.

A pretty swell YouTube page was also created for the bug, excuse me, Beetle which seems to have been neglected as well. Sorry guys, I guess that kid was just too cute or everyone took their smoke breaks and/or had to make a sissy when the spot ran that day.
