EXCLUSIVE: Buffer Adds New Feature To Help You Schedule Your Tweets With Precision

Buffer is a unique, lightweight Twitter scheduling app that staggers your tweets for you throughout the day. And it has just made scheduling more customizable with a new feature announced this week, allowing users to fine-tune exactly when their pre-scheduled tweets will go live right down to each hour of the day.

If you’re interested in setting up a tweet schedule (and you really should if Twitter is something you’re serious about), Buffer will make your life a whole lot easier.

Instead of finding blog posts to tweet, typing out a tweet into a dashboard, shortening the link using bit.ly and using a calendar to schedule it in the future, Buffer enables you to share the things you find around the web with a single click. By dropping an article or link into your Buffer, you will be able to “set it and forget it” – the tweet will go live at a pre-determined time later in the day or week. And Buffer also grabs the title of the page you’re sharing and shortens the link for you, so it’s literally just two clicks and you’ve got an instant tweet schedule. This way you can drop 5, 10 or more links into you Buffer at once, and you won’t flood your followers.

In order to make the Buffer experience more customizable, the company has added more refined scheduling options. With the new Buffer Patterns, you can choose exactly when to send your Buffer tweets throughout the day, down to the minute. You can tweet less, say, on weekends and more during the week. Or tweet more on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Here’s an example of how you can really customize when you send your scheduled tweets with the new Buffer Patterns:

Leo Widrich, co-founder of Buffer explains the new feature:

“Our goal is to allow you and anyone else using Buffer to become a great source of content. By giving you the option to tweet at the frequency and pattern you believe is best, we hope that you can achieve even better results.”

Buffer also offers some pretty cool analytics which show you the number of clicks, retweets, and the reach of your Buffered tweets. And there are also a number of browser extensions that you can install which allow you to Buffer any page instantly.
