Windows 8, the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system, is looking like a much-needed leap forward for the Redmond-based company… and that’s got people talking on Twitter.
Microsoft gave in in-depth preview of their new OS at their Build Windows conference a fortnight ago. The initial buzz over Windows 8 looks like good news for Steve Bullmer et al – overall sentiment is positive, and 47% of the initial reactions were ‘excited’ about the revamped operating system.
Social media listening firm Mashwork looked at 65,968 tweets about Windows 8 shared on Twitter between June 15 and September 22. The most-discussed item? Surprisingly, the fast boot time of the new OS, which dominated 34% of all feature-related tweets.
There’s no release date for Windows 8, but some analysts expect the OS to launch in late 2012.
